A child of the Rust Belt, Peter grew up in Toledo, Ohio. Although Peter has lived on the East Coast now for more than 28 years, he remains an avid Toledo Mudhens and Toledo Walleye fan and a proud Toledo Zoo Member. Growing up in working-class Toledo, Peter learned early the value of hard work and the sense of dignity that comes with it. In 1994, after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, Peter moved to the Washington, DC metropolitan area for graduate school. A chance graduate student internship at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) led to an archivist position with the Nixon Presidential Materials Staff, where he reviewed the Nixon White House Tapes for public access. Not shy to state his opinions, Peter quickly found himself active in the NARA union and was first elected NARA union president at the age of 26. Soon thereafter, he found that solving the labor and employment problems of his fellow co-workers was his true passion and purpose. Because of that discovery, Peter enrolled in law school — working at NARA by day and attending law school classes by night. Upon graduation from law school, there was no question that Peter would practice labor and employment law. As the founding member of the Jeffrey Law Group, PLLC, Peter continues to advocate for fairness in the workplace, with a focus on honest, straightforward advice, and efficient representation for busy clients.

“Hard work builds character,” may as well have been stenciled on Liz’s nursery wall as a child. From her first job at a diner in Central Pennsylvania, to working at the Army & Air Force Exchange Service, to assisting U.S. soldiers as a legal receptionist, Liz took that message to heart. Liz also learned that sometimes working hard isn’t enough to protect you from being unfairly treated or being taken advantage of. Liz focused on labor and employment law at American University’s Washington College of Law, interning at the Department of Labor and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). After law school, Liz joined the NLRB as a staff attorney on a Board Member staff. In 2007, wishing to directly assist Federal employees, Liz left the NLRB to practice at a Washington, DC employment law firm, where she worked with Peter Jeffrey. Seeing a kindred hard worker, Liz has practiced with Peter for almost ten years. Together, they focus on honest, straightforward advice for their clients. Because her clients have put hard work into their Federal careers, she works equally hard to help them in their Federal employment matters.
