Peter J. Jeffrey is the founding member and managing director of The Jeffrey Law Group, PLLC, The Federal Employee’s Law Firm®.

Mr. Jeffrey concentrates his practice in the areas of employment, labor and discrimination law. Mr. Jeffrey represents Federal employees, managers, senior executives, contractors and labor unions in employment and labor law counseling, litigation, mediation and arbitration. In addition, Mr. Jeffrey provides advice and representation to Federal employees and contractors, as well as military personnel, during all phases of the security clearance process, i.e., initial application through investigation / adjudication to appeal. Mr. Jeffrey’s practice frequently involves litigation before such administrative agencies as the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Office of Compliance, the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) Personnel Appeals Board (PAB), the Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals (DOHA) and the Federal Labor Relations Authority (FLRA).

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Jeffrey served as the president of the Council of National Archives and Records Administration Locals, Council 260, American Federation of Government Employees, AFL-CIO (c. 1998 – 2005). While union president, Mr. Jeffrey re-negotiated the National Archives master collective bargaining agreement, developed an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) program for the agency and represented National Archives’ bargaining unit employees in numerous grievances and individual discrimination complaints.

Mr. Jeffrey currently serves as the General Counsel for Local 2535 of the American Federation of Government Employees, AFL-CIO.

Mr. Jeffrey also serves as a Lecturer at The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, where he teaches Fair Employment Law.

Mr. Jeffrey is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and Maryland. Mr. Jeffrey is also a member of the bars of the United States Courts of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Mr. Jeffrey is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), the AFL-CIO’s Lawyers Coordinating Committee (LCC), the District of Columbia Bar, the Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association (MWELA), and the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA).

Mr. Jeffrey earned his law degree from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Mr. Jeffrey earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
